The USGA's Reproduction Process

The USGA's Museum's Archival Reproductions are made from high-resolution digital photographs and digital scans utilizing the latest state-of-the art digital technology.  The USGA's Photography and Archival Department carefully match the printed reproduction against the original work of art in our collection and produce master match prints which are used for each on demand custom print to ensure that the Museum's reproduction standards are maintained for both open and limited editions.

Every custom-made USGA Archival Print is printed on 100% acid free 230 gram archival matte paper. The paper we use is PEFC Certified. PEFC is the world’s largest forest certification system. These crediibile standards seek to transform the way forests are managed globally – and locally – to ensure that all of us can enjoy the environmental, social and economic benefits that forests offer. The USGA's Museum's Archival prints produced on on 100% acid free archival papers using the latest Epson professional edition printers and Epson UltraChrome K3™ ink can produce archival prints with amazing fidelity for both color and black and white prints.

  • We use acid free mats and foam core backing materials that will extend the life of the finished product.  The last part of the finishing equation includes UV resistant plexiglas.
